Being Balanced in Every Area of Life
The contradictions and conflicts that we encounter in every area of life actually exist as elements of balance. The order created by God constantly encourages the person to achieve balance. People usually see these contradictions as a problem or a matter of complaint; however, these situations are divine opportunities presented to the person for self-development and to live a balanced life. Every difficulty allows the person to realize their own limits and to get rid of their excesses.
Whenever we are out of balance in life, a situation or person comes along to balance it. For example, a very meticulous person often ends up with a sloppy spouse. This is an opportunity for the meticulous person to let go of perfectionism and learn to be more flexible. Similarly, the sloppy person can learn to be more attentive to his or her surroundings. Similarly, a very stingy father may have a child who is inconsistent or wasteful in financial matters. This situation paves the way for the father to examine his own excessive frugality and learn to share. At the same time, the spendthrift child can learn financial discipline by learning from his father’s thrifty behavior.
It is also a common example for someone who is overly compassionate to encounter cruel people in their life. Sometimes, excessive compassion leads to self-sacrifice, which creates a situation in which the person must learn to set boundaries in their life. Encountering cruel people is a lesson for an overly compassionate individual to learn to defend their own rights. At the same time, there is a possibility that the cruel person who sees the compassion in the other person may question their behavior. These encounters create a learning process for both parties.
These types of contrasts are messages given to a person to understand themselves and live a balanced life. Allah conveys the following message to people through these situations: Know yourself, change and develop. Contrasts help a person realize the extremes in their own character and learn to be flexible. If a person learns from these events, they can overcome such imbalances in their life and establish a balance within themselves.
In order to achieve balance in life, you must first look at events with an impartial eye. Instead of seeing the contradictions in your life as a problem, you should try to understand what they are trying to teach you. In addition, you should evaluate your own behaviors, discover your excesses or deficiencies, and develop a more balanced attitude. Gaining flexibility is the key to resolving conflicts in your life and living a peaceful life.
In conclusion, God constantly guides man to reach a balance. The opposites and conflicts in your life are a mirror that shows you your excesses and deficiencies. If you evaluate these situations correctly and learn from them, you can find spiritual and physical peace and live a balanced life. Because balance is the cornerstone of life and the key to true peace.
